Correct: I think “The Last One” is the best episode of Friends.
Wrong: I think The Last One is the best episode of Friends.
Wrong: I think “The Last One” is the best episode of “Friends”.
All punctuation for a sentence must be located inside quotation marks. (with one exception, see below)
Correct: The lawyer said, “I rest my case.”
Wrong: The lawyer said, “I rest my case.”.
Wrong: The lawyer said, “I rest my case”.
Exception: Sentences about a specific quote can put punctuation outside the quotation marks.
Correct: Do you agree that “love is blind”?
Wrong: Do you agree that “love is blind?”
