If there is a different language being spoken, put the name of that language in parenthesis, and include the English translation after if available.
Ex. (speaking Japanese) We are hoping the coronavirus will not affect the Olympic Games in Tokyo this summer.
If you do not know which language is being spoken, just write the English without using the parenthesis and name of the second language.
Stick foreign words in quotations.
Ex. In Japan, the “sakura” bloom earlier and earlier every year.
Ex. It is common for some people to take afternoon “siestas” in certain countries.
